Registration is open for the Great Lakes Economic Forum

Registration is open for the fourth Great Lakes Economic Forum (GLEF) in Montreal, Quebec from May 3-5. GLEF a cross-border conference and trade expo that brings together senior leaders from business, government, academia, and the nonprofit sector from across the eight Great Lakes states and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec to discuss critical issues that impact the Great Lakes economy. GLEF is hosted and convened by the Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR). According to CGLR,

The world economy has never been more connected. The pace of growth and productivity, driven by technological innovations, is impressive, especially as we enter the fourth industrial revolution and the Internet of Things. And the competition for market access, buyers and sellers, investment and workers has never been more fierce. [GLEF provides an opportunity for] thought-provoking discussions and intimate networking with Regional leaders in order to find new ways of harnessing the Region’s economic strengths and assets, improving the well-being of the Region’s citizens, and protecting the environment for future generations.

This year’s GLEF includes a report on the State of the Great Lakes Economy by BMO Financial Group and panel presentations on such topics as mobility, innovation, transportation, life sciences, manufacturing, tourism, water stewardship, and cross-border issues.
